UMSL Digital Instructor – Scott Morris


Scott is the Director of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center and Assistant Teaching Professor of Entrepreneurship in the College of Business Administration at the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL). He moved to higher education after having spent 30 years in the corporate world. His corporate life was dedicated to helping various employers develop and implement scaling strategies that have led to significantly better than market growth rates. During his tenure, three employers more than doubled revenue and one quadrupled revenue. His experiences are in Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Mergers and Acquisition, Marketing, and Division President roles. He has served in various B2B and B2C industries including software, manufactured components, specialty chemicals, and technology. He has worked for four private equity-owned businesses, completed numerous acquisitions, sold multiple businesses, and been part of two IPOs. Most recently, Scott led global Corporate Development & Strategy, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, at Xplor Technologies.

Scott has a BA from DePauw University, an MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and DBA from the University of Missouri —St. Louis.
