About this course:

To achieve milestones more quickly and maximize results, the strategist must create a clear understanding of what a project is trying to achieve while gaining buy-in by establishing why we want to achieve it. Only then can we effectively move on to answering how will we accomplish goals and execute strategic plans.

Strategic projects rarely yield definitive answers. It is therefore crucial that we generate recommendations that are well supported with analysis of the data, explanations of the alternative options considered, and articulation of the variables that may impact results. It is also important that we respectfully listen to the opinions and thoughts of others. We may sometimes go faster alone, but we always go further together. Full stakeholder buy-in is crucial to success.

Why should I take this course?

A strategy is absolutely crucial for long-term success of any business. Without a strategy, leaders and employees often resort to performing tasks and becoming overwhelmed with day-to-day problems that may or may not actually be moving the business forward. This is especially true or founders and entrepreneurs in start-up or scale-up mode. The temptation is to try to do everything yourself. Develop a definitive strategy for the next 3 to 5 years. Clearly communicate that strategy so that others can easily understand and amplify the message. A clear strategy will also make it easier to hire employees, find the right consultants, and attract investors.

Why is strategy so important?

We develop a strategy in order to:

  • Ensure our executives, managers, and employees understand where we are going and are held accountable for what matters most
  • Communicate clearly to investors
  • Inspire all stakeholders with the importance of our business
